Analytica for students & faculty

Max Henrion developed the idea for Analytica while a professor at Carnegie Mellon. His goal was to help students and practicing analysts master the art and science of quantitative decision modeling.

First, you identify the key decisions, objectives, and uncertainties, and the influences among them, then you create the underlying mathematical structure. Influence diagrams encourage you to conceptualize and structure complex problems the same way expert analysts do.

Analytica is used for teaching and research in leading universities around the world. See how others have used Analytica in academia. Read some of the published papers and case studies that have featured Analytica.

The free version of Analytica lets you create and edit models with up to 101 variables, which is pretty substantial since each variable can be a multidimensional array. It also lets you run larger modes in ‘browse mode.’ Learn more about the free edition.

While Analytica doesn’t run on macOS, it does work with Parallels or VMWare through Windows.
